All foreign visitors desiring to enter Canada must have a valid passport. Depending on citizenship, and the duration and reasons for your stay, you may need to obtain a visa before coming to Canada. Additionally, as of March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travelers with a valid visa.

To apply you must have a valid passport, a credit card, and an email address.
Applying for an eTA is an easy online process that will take just a few minutes. It only costs $7 Canadian. Apply for eTA
